- Custom Built Stairways

Stair construction is a very involved and intricate part of interior finish work. Our stairs are very well built and constructed with proper glues and nails. The stair building technique we use is routering the treads and risers into the skirt boards, which in turn makes for the tightest and most secure fit for your stairway. There are several different styles of stairways that you can choose to build.

Traditional stairways are most commonly seen with box newel posts and typically a square balaster and half posts that are installed against the wall at balconies instead of rosettes.

With a more modern stairway you will see an over the post handrail. Balasters most commonly used are spindle style balasters. With any stairway additional molding can be added to make the stairway more fancy such as a raised panel chair rail running up the stair wall or scroll pieces applied to the skirt board on the open side of a stairway.

Curved stairways are usually built using bent wood or laminated bent wood. They can flare out at the bottom of the stairway only or they can be curved at the balcony or continuously up the stairway. They are different than circular and spiral stairways. Unlike the circular stairways, which are symmetrical, curved stairways can be oblong or eliptical. Also, curved stairways are meant for extravagant, excquisite and elaborate entry ways or grand foyers, whereas spiral stairways are commonly used when there is limited space for accessing the second floor.

- Mantles and Built-Ins

- Entertainment Centers

Mantles come in various shapes and sizes. Standard mantles can be made custom to fit any fireplace openings. Also, they can be built for paint grade to match the color of interior trim or in various species of woods for natural finishes. Standard mantles can be built in one to two days. More elaborate mantles can take several days to build.

Custom built-ins can also vary in shapes and sizes from simple adjustable shelves for storage to home theatre entertainment centers. Some have cabinet doors, drawers or pocketing doors for concealing TVs. We can custom build raise panel doors, flat panel doors or can special order about any door design.

Our entertainment centers can be free standing, armoires or built attached to the walls for permanent structure into the crown molding of the ceiling with different types of possibilities of trim i.e. fluted columns for a traditional look or shaker panels for a more subtle look.

- Trim & Moldings

Trim and moldings come in various sizes and styles from simple 2 1/2 inch door and window casing to custom made door and window casings. We install crown moldings for the ceilings, beadboard chair rails and anything designed for interior trim work.

*We are typically an interior trim company only but when needed we can install kitchen cabinets and a wide range of carpetry projects.
